Our Mission
The Meadows Museum of Art at Centenary College of Louisiana is an educational unit of the College charged with the collection, conservation, preservation and interpretation of visual art works of museum quality from the College Collection inclusive of the Indochina Collection of Jean Despujols.
This comprehensive Collection represents the aesthetic achievements of a variety of world cultures and of artists whose works represent the unique culture of Louisiana. The Museum augments its Collections by maintaining a rigorous temporary exhibition schedule designed to reflect the diversity and interests of the regional community by presenting the highest level of aesthetic achievements of individuals and cultures. The Museum is dedicated to the concept that encounters with original art works constitute educational as well as aesthetic experiences and promotes academic and public access to its collections through development and implementation of a variety of public programs for all ages. The Museum serves as a forum for art, artists, and audiences, which enhances the life of the College and community and brings regional and national attention to the Meadows Museum of Art and Centenary College of Louisiana.
The Meadows Museum of Art is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums.
